Pneumatic Conveying
The airflow meets various objectives: avoiding the overheating of the grinding chamber, conveying the material from the grinding chamber to the conveying pipe, participating in the classification of the product resulting from the balance between crossing speed of the air in the classifier and the peripheral speed of the classifier itself.
It is therefore fundamental the control of the air flow and the availability of a fan suitable for the supply of the necessary head to overcome the pressure drop, due to various devices, without compromising the capacity of the airflow.
The centrifugal fan is of the high head type functioning at constant speed. It has the triple aim of moving the material from the grinding chamber, allowing the dynamic classification of powders and avoiding the overheating of the machine.
According to the characteristics of the equipment the fan can be used for pneumatic conveying.
According to the type of equipment and to the application field a crossed fan can be supplied or a suction system can be used when a filter is needed.
In the field of flue gas treatment an under-pressure system can be used which is even more advantageous with an uncrossed model which does not require the installation of a filter.
The fan is equipped with:
- Radial or backward curved blades according to the application
- Motor,
- Tightener slides,
- Complete transmission of pulleys,
- Transmission protection timing case,
- Counterframe for the fixing to the bed,
- Thicker gauges.
Lateral canal blowers and in pressure lobe blowers are the solutions used mainly for pneumatic conveying of material when the characteristics of the equipment and of the product do not allow the handling of the material by the centrifugal fan alone.
They can be supplied also for utilizations complying with relative ATEX norm, so to assure a safe use in these application fields.
