Flue gas cleaning
The environment preservation has become an indefeasible aspect we cannot avoid.
International laws defining rigid limits to polluting gas emissions in the atmosphere have initially interested plants such as waste-to-energy plants and coal-fired power plants but they are today applied to all industrial activities with high polluting potential (energy activities, production and transformation of minerals, mineral product industry, chemical industry, waste management etc.).
G.T.S. adheres to the respect of present laws with a specific line of efficient classifier mills which have been successfully used over the years in the ecological sector for the purification of polluting emissions.
One of the best known and most experienced purification processes makes use of dry injection of sodium bicarbonate.
This basic reagent, suitably ground, efficiently neutralizes acids (HCl, HF, SOx etc.) when injected in fumes.
Combined with activated carbon or lignite, it acts on heavy metals and on dioxines/furans allowing the compliance with the strictest norms on emissions in the atmosphere.
The technical and economical advantages of the dry treatment by sodium salts are:
- Absence of liquid effluents to be treated;
- Respect of emission limits currently required and flexibility in the adjustments to future changes in the law;
- Extreme simplicity in the management and maintenance of the purification line;
- Management costs of the neutralization line more advantageous than alternative technologies.
The efficacy of the neutralization process by sodium bicarbonate depends on the accuracy of its previous micronization which must assure the availability of a reagent with very high specific surface.
In fact, the granulometry distribution of the injected material is fundamental in relation with the quantity of required reagent.
Over the years G.T.S. has been acknowledged as a reliable manufacturer of sodium bicarbonate mills and, since the very beginning, G.T.S. has paid particular attention to them, supported by its consolidated experience of twenty years in the supply of many machines for the flue gas treatment process of fumes in both industrial activities and Waste-to-Energy systems.
Sensitive to the requirements of the sector, G.T.S. has planned continuous revisions to various models of classifier mills by implementing the obtained results and assuring ever better performances thanks to the profitable relation with the owners of the know-how of the different processes and the final consumers.
G.T.S. supplies complete micronization turnkey equipments, from storage system to dust collector and handling to the injection point.
Special industrial waste, hospital waste, urban solid waste, cement factories, sewage sludge water, glass industry, ceramic industry and brickworks in general and biomass heating plants.
The various models of MG-B and MG•P series classifier mills meet all the requirements of hourly capacity from 20 kg to 2 tons with possibility of granulometry control.
An activated carbon dosing system assures the control on emissions in the presence of heavy metals in fumes.
